The Councilor for Traffic and Citizen Security, Lola Sánchez, attended this morning to the delivery of the Solidarity 2017 Award, which IES Mariano Baquero have awarded to the NGO Azul en Acción.

This award recognizes the solidarity, humanitarian and disinterested activity carried out in a habitual way, by institutions or people.

In other editions, the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, Firemen without Borders, Caritas and the Saharawi People have been distinguished.

The Blue NGO in Action was born within the Local Police of Murcia in 2000, with the objectives of intervening in international development cooperation and humanitarian aid.

In these years of work, he has carried out 52 projects of development cooperation in different areas of intervention such as health, education and construction of basic infrastructure, a project to support the disabled in the Region of Murcia, 15 information projects and Awareness raising, various interventions in emergency situations (earthquakes in El Salvador and India, Saharawi refugee camps, Lorca earthquake, etc.) and has collaborated with other NGOs in the implementation of three development cooperation projects.
