The cultural center Puertas de Castilla will show a portrait of Salvador Dalí by Eduardo Kobra (25/04/2017)

Councilor Fomento, Roque Ortiz, visited this morning the cultural center Puertas de Castilla, whose façade the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra has begun to paint his first mural in Spain.

Finally Kobra will make a great portrait of Salvador Dalí, for being "one of the most international Spanish figures, one of the highest representatives of surrealism and one of the most important painters, sculptors and thinkers of the culture of the twentieth century," said Ortiz .

The work of Kobra will probably be extended until next May 1 and for its realization will require 240 spray cans, 60 liters of paint and two articulated elevators.

This mural, the first of the Brazilian artist in Spain, takes place on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Grafiti Municipal Office, launched by the City Council and Ferrovial Services, and will occupy more than 200 square meters of the façade found In the avenue Miguel de Cervantes.

The Brazilian artist entered the Guinness Book of Records by painting the largest mural in the world, with 2,500 square meters, located in Rio de Janeiro at the entrance of the sports complex where the last Olympic Games were held.

He recently completed a mural that surpasses it, with 6,000 square meters, on the facade of a chocolate factory located next to one of the main freeways of Sao Paulo.

At present it counts on more than 3.000 works, mainly in Brazil although its murals have arrived at the United States, England, France, Mexico and Greece
