The participants of the University of Murcia (UMU) have obtained a total of nine medals in the IV Championship of Spain University of Olympic Struggle, which was held this weekend in the campus of San Javier of this educational institution.
Students Guillermo López and Antonio Rodríguez won gold medals, while Lorena Lera, José Antonio Gómez and José Rabadán won silver medals and Julio Espín, Ricardo Pérez, Andrés Romero and Antonio Vera, bronze medals.
All this, together with the role of José Francisco Jiménez, Irene Muñoz, Alejandro Rueda and Irene Mayor, has earned UMU gold for men's and men's bronze medals.
More than a dozen universities participated in this Championship, organized by the UMU in collaboration with the Spanish University Sports Committee and the Higher Sports Council.
Parallel to the official competition, the University of Murcia developed a program in which highlighted the data collections of the research groups INGESPORT and High Performance of the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
In addition, various outreach talks and an international tournament of young promises were held.
The Spanish University Championships will continue on the campus of Espinardo with the competitions of handball, futsal and rugby 7.
