PSOE, Cambiemos Murcia and Councilman Luis Bermejo will defend in the municipal plenary public support to the Housing Act of the Platform Affected by Mortgage (25/04/2017)

The two political groups and the non-attached councilor present a motion, not only to support the PAH initiative, but also to require the State Government and all parliamentary groups in Congress to legislate the proposals of this platform

The political groups of PSOE and Cambiemos Murcia, as well as the non-attached councilman, Luis Bermejo, will defend in the April plenary session a motion to support the so-called 'PAH Housing Law', in which they will urge the City Council of Murcia to publicly show support for this initiative and ask the Government of Spain to take into account the modification of laws proposed by the Platform Affected by Mortgage.

The PAH is carrying out a campaign at the state level defending the right to housing and, through its 'Housing Law', seek to amend the laws that allow the effective application of Article 47 of the Constitution, article Which includes the 'right to enjoy decent and adequate housing'.

Along with members of the Platform of People Affected by Mortgage, the councilors of the PSOE, Susana Hernández, Cambiemos Murcia, Sergio Ramos, and Councilman Luis Bermejo, offered a press conference Tuesday to present this motion to be discussed in the Full of next Thursday and to show their support to this group.

As explained, "the application of the Spanish Mortgage Law has been repeatedly challenged by European legislation in relation to the abusive clauses it contemplates, the loss of the habitation of thousands of people, the suffering of families engulfed in energy poverty by Supply cuts or the anguish of having to spoil a family in a room for lack of sufficient social rental housing. "

This is why PSOE, Cambiemos Murcia and Bermejo mayor join the five proposals that the PAH proposes to address the housing demand: the payment in retroactive payment with second chance mechanisms and the non-legalization of the habitual residence of guarantors;

The commitment to affordable rentals, establishing a framework of price regulation that corresponds to the income of the population;

The moratorium on first and only housing evictions, including the obligation of banks and large holders of housing to offer social rent to affected families before executing an eviction;

The mobilization of empty housing and the increase of the public housing park;

And the guarantee of supplies, also creating a social rate that is applied based on the purchasing power of families.

PSOE, Cambiemos Murcia and Councilman Luis Bermejo, also request that, if the PAH Housing Law is approved, the resources necessary to apply it properly should be provided.
