Murcia celebrates World Dance Day with a dozen activities (24/04/2017)

The collaboration between the Conservatory of Dance and the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture, led by Jesús Pacheco, has enabled a comprehensive program of activities to commemorate World Dance Day to be held on 29 April.

Although the day that will gather the largest number of events will be next Friday, activities will extend until the end of June.

Thus, the programming will begin on Thursday with the awards ceremony of the IV edition of the drawing competition and the third edition of writing in which have participated students of the workshops of elementary education.

At 20 hours will be held the Dance Gala of these same workshops.

The day of Friday will begin at 11.30 with a sample of contemporary, classical and Spanish dance in the street that will take place in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga and will be repeated at 6 pm.

In addition he will make a video projection on the facade of the Conservatory of Dance.

At 14 hours a meal of brotherhood will take place in the courtyard of the Conservatory.

On 10, 11 and 12 May, at 10 and 11.30 hours, pupils from educational centers will be able to attend, in the Algezares Auditorium, the performance of the ballet Pedro and the wolf.

On Tuesday May 23 will be held at the Teatro Circo the Classical and Contemporary Dance Gala for the benefit of the Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes in which students from 5th and 6th Classical and Contemporary.

Tickets can be purchased at the Asociación Trasladanza.

At the Teatro Romea, on Wednesday, May 24, will take place the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Gala, whose proceeds will go to the All Heart Association of Murcia and in which students of 5th and 6th Spanish Professional.

Tickets will be sold in the Asociación Trasladanza and in the Asociación Todo Corazón.

On Wednesday, June 28, the program will close the Classic Dance Gala in the auditorium of Algezares.

The International Dance Day is celebrated on April 29th since it was established in 1982 by the International Dance Institute of the International Theater Institute (ITI).

This date commemorates the birth (in 1727) of Jean-Georges Noverre, dancer and teacher considered the creator of modern ballet.

Each year, the ITI instructs a well-known personality from the world of dance to write a message that is read around the world and that in this edition was entrusted to the recognized choreographer, dancer and American artistic director Trisha Brown before his death , Last March 18, so it has finally been elaborated using his writings, reflections and statements and is also published as a tribute to it.
