Social Rights proposes to allow to request the family respite service throughout the year (24/04/2017)

The drafting of the new ordinance will make it possible to access this benefit without a prior deadline established as it is so far. Family respite is a support service for families with dependent dependents who require the continued care of a person As primary caregiver

The approval of a Regulatory Ordinance for Family Respite Care in Domiciles will allow the possibility that the beneficiaries can apply for this benefit throughout the year, without adhering to a previous deadline, as was the case until now.

The administrative procedure for this is already under way.

The process of initial approval by the Governing Board has passed, this morning has submitted to the opinion of the Committee on Employment, Social Rights, Education and Culture, and next Thursday will be included in the agenda of the Plenary .

The Respite to Families with Persons with Functional Dependence service consists of providing support to the family that usually cares for a dependent person, who suffers an overload both by the amount of work that the dependent family's care entails and by the level Emotional stress it entails.

This benefit allows to substitute in the care that lends him so that the family or person caretaker main can be relieved.

At the moment there are 70 users attached to this service, in which the Council of Social Rights, promoter of this project, devotes an approximate budget of 200,000 €.

Until now, an annual call was approved for access to this service, which necessarily had to attend year after year those families who wanted to benefit from it.

The approval of this ordinance means that this service is equivalent to the procedure that was already established for access to other similar services, such as home help and home teleassistance.

The Respiro Familiar is a support service for families with dependent dependents that require the continued care of a person as the primary caregiver.

The benefit covers the personal care and accompanying, in his own home, that the person needs in the absence of the family, through professionals with specific training in care for people with special needs.
