The Brazilian Eduardo Kobra will paint in Murcia the first mural that realizes in Spain (21/04/2017)

Murcia will have the first mural that the Brazilian Eduardo Kobra realizes in Spain, thanks to the Municipal Office of the Grafiti dependent of the Department of Development and Ferrovial Services.

Kobra, one of the most famous and recognized urban artists in the world, will make one of his enormous murals, which stand out for their colorful and geometric motifs, in the cultural center Puertas de Castilla.

Thus, and on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Grafiti Municipal Office, Kobra will make his first intervention in Spain on the facade of more than 200 square meters located on the avenue Miguel de Cervantes.

Councilor Roque Ortiz explained that "the personal and professional career of Kobra has encouraged us to choose this artist as a person invited to perform the first major intervention in our city. Projecting our city as the national capital of urban art, creating an open-air museum. "

Kobra will arrive in Murcia on Monday 24 April in the afternoon with two assistants who will help him to elaborate the work whose works will be extended until May 1st.

For the realization of the mural will be necessary 240 spray cans, 60 liters of paint and two articulated elevators.

During the seven days that will last the making of the mural, all who want can pass through the center Castile doors to see it live.

Also on Saturday April 29 will be a meeting with local artists, students of Fine Arts and anyone who has an interest in chat with Kobra and learn more about his technique and work.

The Brazilian artist entered the Guinness Book of Records by painting the largest mural in the world, with 2,500 square meters, located in Rio de Janeiro at the entrance of the sports complex where the last Olympic Games were held.

He recently completed a mural that surpasses it, with 6,000 square meters, on the facade of a chocolate factory located next to one of the main freeways of Sao Paulo.

At present it counts on more than 3.000 works, mainly in Brazil although its murals have arrived at the United States, England, France, Mexico and Greece.
