Let's change Murcia denounces the diversion of the channel from the rambla of the Port of Cadena to private gardens (21/04/2017)

The vocal of Cambiemos Murcia in the Municipal Council of El Palmar, Enrique Baeza, has denounced today that the channel of the ravine of the Port of Cadena, inside the Carrascoy Valley, is being diverted towards private orchards to irrigate crops of lemon trees and to fill rafts And private swimming pools without the authorization of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS).

Baeza, who visited the rambla along with councilman Sergio Ramos, the manager of the group of Huerta and Model City, José Antonio Moreno Micol, and the representative of the formation in San Ginés, Ginés Mirón, explained that this deviation began many years ago , When the area to be supplied was "very small", but with the passage of time the use has been increasing.

Thus, "a private use of water is being made for rafts, swimming pools and crops".

All this "before the passivity of the Administrations", that "at no time have done anything to return the water to its natural course, recover the environmental damage that is occurring in both the flora and fauna or clean the ponds."

Precisely, before this lack of action, the vocal presented last year a motion in the Municipal Board to return the water to its natural channel and proceed to clean the environment, which was approved.

The CHS's response was that it had no budget to carry out these measures but expressed its approval for the board to undertake them, with its authorization.

On January 5, after a letter from the vowel of Cambiemos Murcia, the CHS asked the board for a detailed project of all the actions with the concrete location, hence the municipal training, also through its representative in El Palmar, Has recently asked the City Council to take on this task.

"We have asked the Consistory that, through a technician of the Department of Development, carry out a specific project," said Baeza, who has considered "urgent" this action to the deterioration of the rambla and nearby areas, as it is The case of the children's area and the picnic area, on which conservation measures are not put in place beyond cleaning.
