The City Council establishes a complete cleaning and safety device for the Burial of the Sardine (20/04/2017)

The City Council of Murcia, through the Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz, and the Department of Traffic and Citizen Security, directed by Lola Sánchez, has established a complete cleaning and security device for the Burial of the Sardine.

The cleaning service will begin on Saturday at noon acting after the Doña Sardina parade through various locations in the city.

This service will consist of a foreman, five specialist pawns, eight pawns, two road sweeps, two sidewalk sweepers, a mini-picker and a transport vehicle.

For the parade of the Burial of the Sardine, the cleaning team will be distributed in six zones, which attend to the passage of the procession, to restore circulation and return the usual image of the city.

In total, 265 workers will be employed, of which 125 will be of the extraordinary service, as well as the use of 57 mechanical means, among sweepers, hydro-cleaners, collectors ...

In addition, the Department of Development will participate in the parade with a float decorated with motifs from the campaign 'No seas marrano', where the message will be disseminated in a novel and fun way.

Thus, the musical group Los Happys and its singer Antonio Hidalgo, will interpret musical themes and will involve citizens remembering their responsibility in the maintenance of the city and the environment.

To close the itinerary, 28 traffic cut-off points will be established, in order to prevent vehicles from accessing the parade route and at the same time channel traffic through the alternative routes provided for this purpose.

For the displacements that must be made from east to west and vice versa, the route of connection between the Ronda Oeste and the Ronda Sur is recommended, and as an alternative route in both directions the following is established: Plaza Ing. Juan de la Cierva, C / Industria, C / Pintor P. Flores, C / Pintor Almela Costa and Ronda Sur.

The traffic coming from Avda. Ciudad de Almería will be diverted towards Ronda Oeste.

For the northern zone, and taking into account that the Circular Square, Av. Primo de Rivera and Ronda Norte will be used as part of the parade itinerary, it is necessary to establish a connection diversion.

For this, the alternative route will be in both directions of circulation the following: Avda. Abenarabi, Avda. Juan Carlos I (from the intersection with Abenarabi towards Espinardo), Avda. De los Pinos, Avda. Miguel de Cervantes, Ronda Oeste or C / San Antón.

In this area it is recommended to use the Ronda Oeste and the connection with the exit of Senda de Granada, Juan Carlos I and Avda. Reino de Murcia.

It is also remembered the existence of connection of the Avda. Juan de Borbón with the A-7 (Autovía de Alicante) and its different exits of Senda de Granada, Churra and the Puntal.

For North-South travel, we recommend the use of the Ronda Oeste and Ronda de Levante, Avda. Primero de Mayo and Ronda Sur.

In total, 16 emergency exits will be established along the route of the parade, in order to allow the rapid evacuation of participants or spectators of the parade, as well as facilitate the rapid access of emergency vehicles.

In these exits will have the collaboration of members of Civil Protection.

The installation of the fireworks will take place on the left bank of the river between the Manterola bridge and the beginning of the Malecon.

This service will be covered with 4 policemen and a safe distance will be cordoned off the area of ​​fireworks with the placement of fences to prevent access of the general public to said zone.

Shadow zones will also be established with 7 motorized units in charge of preventing and responding to any specific actions in the area of ​​Citizen Security and health care that occur in the environment near the parade.
