A special device will guarantee the cleaning of Murcia during the week of Spring Festival (12/04/2017)

279 workers will serve on the Day of the Orchard and 265 in the Burial of the Sardine |

The Department of Development and the concessionaire company Ferrovial Servicios have prepared an extraordinary service of reinforcement of cleaning and collection of waste on the occasion of the Spring Festivities.

The device contemplates all the events organized during the holiday week, but the greatest efforts will be made in the Bunch of the Garden and Burial of the Sardine.

Throughout the week, the Sanitation Services will install 525 portable toilets throughout the city, placing at least one in each tent.

Likewise, 76 containers of waste will be delivered between the planned barracks, where two operators will be used, plus a collection truck to carry out the collection of waste each day.

These containers will be added to the 500 paper mills already announced that will be distributed throughout the city in collaboration with Club Rotary Norte, Plasbel and Ecoembes.

For the day of Bando de la Huerta, during the night of Monday 17, a team formed by driver and two operators, will distribute a total of 106 additional containers through the gardens of Murcia with the intention of facilitating to the citizen the deposit of the waste and Which will be distributed as follows:

For the cleaning service, it will be necessary to employ 94 additional workers, which will be added to the 185 operators who normally perform the service in the area.

Also, the mechanical means to be used during this day will be 12 road sweepers, 10 sidewalk sweepers, 7 bucket trucks, 3 bucketloaders, 13 pickup trucks, plus 11 scrubbers and washer-cleaners.

The Service will adapt to the route of the parade with the aim that the city is in perfect condition at 12 o'clock on Wednesday, April 19

Previous days and parade of the Burial of the Sardine

On Thursday at the Arrival of the Sardine parade will be made an extraordinary subsequent cleaning, composed of a foreman, four specialist pawns, eight pawns, three road sweepers, a sidewalk sweeper and a transport vehicle.

On Friday, the day of the Sardine Testament Parade, an extraordinary after-cleaning will be carried out, consisting of two foremen, two drivers, six pawns, three road sweepers, a mini-collector, a container truck and a transport vehicle.

On Saturday, Sardine Burial Day, the service will begin at noon, where an extraordinary service will be held after the Doņa Sardina parade through various locations in the city.

This service will consist of a foreman, five specialist pawns, eight pawns, two road sweeps, two sidewalk sweepers, a mini-picker and a transport vehicle.

For the Burial of the Sardine parade, the cleaning team is distributed in six zones, which attend to the passage of the procession, to restore circulation and return the usual image of the city.

In total, 265 workers will be employed, of which 125 will be of the extraordinary service, as well as the use of 57 mechanical means, among sweepers, hydro-cleaners, collectors ...

On Sunday, April 23, the center of the city will be clean to be able to perform the last events of these parties as it is the IX Festival of Magic that takes place in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

The barracks will close after noon and on Monday the city will return to normal, finishing the finishing touches of cleaning up these holidays.

After the closure and dismantling of barracks, the different areas will be cleaned, using 22 workers to use, 4 water cleaners, 8 sidewalk scrubbers, plus 4 collectors.

Awareness during the Holidays

The Department of Development will use these holidays to inform and raise awareness of the need for collaboration to keep the city clean.

In addition to publicizing the campaign in traditional media will have presence in the two events that most public gather in these festivals.

During the morning of the Day of Bando de la Huerta, cleaning service workers will distribute 10,000 biodegradable garbage bags with the slogan 'Do not be Marrano' in the streets and squares with the largest influx of citizens.

The operators will make citizens aware of the need to collaborate, not leaving their residues in streets and gardens.

With the same objective, the Bando afternoon parade will be opened by four cleaning machines accompanied by operators who will distribute backpacks to keep the details that are delivered that day, but at the same time raising awareness and insisting on the need for collaboration to keep Murcia clean

In the Burial of the Sardine will participate in the parade with a float decorated with motifs of the campaign, where the message will be disseminated in a novel and fun way.

Thus, the musical group Los Happys and its singer Antonio Hidalgo, will interpret musical themes and will involve citizens remembering their responsibility in the maintenance of the city and the environment.

This carriage will be accompanied by cabezudos with the creativity of the campaign that will energize the spectacle at the same time that they will distribute 5,000 atrapajuguetes and 5,000 beach shovels.

According to forecasts of other years, these days are collected around 170 tonnes of waste.

Only in Bando de la Huerta were gathered last year 77.9 tons and in the Burial of the Sardine 25.8 tons, while a normal day are collected from 12 to 15 tons.
