The Los Ramos doctor's office opens new facilities to serve 3,200 people (11/04/2017)

José Ballesta and Encarna Guillén visit the sanitary infrastructure, of 235 m2, after the works of extension, reform and modernization realized by the City council with an investment of 226,000 euros.

Two family doctors, two nurses, a pediatrician and an auxiliary will be assisted, according to the staffing of the Ministry of Health.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Minister of Health in charge, Encarna Guillén, visited today the new facilities of the doctor's office of Los Ramos, which will serve the more than 3,200 inhabitants of the hamlet.

The sanitary infrastructure, financed entirely by the City of Murcia with 226,000 euros, has 235 m2, and will provide service two family doctors, two nurses, a pediatrician and an auxiliary, according to the staffing by the Ministry Of Health.

"The new facilities are part of the network of clinics and health centers existing in the municipality of Murcia, which integrates a total of 65 centers distributed in the 880 km2 of the municipality, serving the neighbors of all districts," he said. The mayor, who added that "38 of these local offices are municipal management."

The office, which has been enlarged, refurbished and modernized, occupies the premises of which until now was the Integral Cultural Center of the hamlet and has 2 general medical consultations, 1 pediatric consultation, 2 nursing consultations, 1 nursing consultation / Cures, 1 meeting room, cleaning, men's and ladies' toilets, store, reception, waiting room.

Taking advantage of the holidays of Holy Week will be carried out the transfer and installation of equipment and computer systems to the new building, so that the local office can start operating next week, Friday 21, 8 a.m.

Renewal and extension

The hamlet of Los Ramos, which belongs to the Health Zone of Beniaján, had a local office built in 1992, which remained small after 25 years of use.

For this reason, the City Council proposed the authorization of a new local office renovated and expanded in the Cultural Center Integral (located in an annex and larger), exchanging the uses of both buildings.

Once the transfer and start-up of the doctor's office have been completed next week, the facilities will be refurbished and will now accommodate part of the activities taking place in the Centro Cultural Integral.
