The opposition denounces that the government team "blackmails" the district boards to pay part of the Spring Festival (11/04/2017)

The opposition parties of the City of Murcia, PSOE, Citizens, Now Murcia and Cambiemos Murcia, have denounced today that the Government team has tried to "blackmail" the district boards to pay part of the Spring Festival, proposing that Urgently approve bills of up to 11,000 euros in exchange for there are activities in your neighborhood.

As they have denounced, between Friday and today the presidents of the district meetings of El Carmen, El Infante and La Fleet, none presided over by the Popular Party, have received the warning that they must approve a bill for the purchase of flowers in a If they wanted their neighborhoods to be included in the party program.

In case of El Infante the value of the invoice amounts to 11,500 euros, 13% of its annual budget, while in El Carmen is more than 6,000 euros, 5%.

In addition, according to Article 196 of the Consolidated Text of the Public Sector Contracting Law, in order for a City Council plenary to approve an expenditure of more than 3,000 euros, more than three budgets must be presented. Which must be added a motion approved in this regard in the Plenum of the City.

However, since the Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation has only been sent one to each board requesting approval.

The opposition parties have pointed out that they are not against investing in the holidays, but that they are not willing to "I invite you to pay" urgently approved.

In this regard, they consider that the Government Team has attempted to split the spending of the Spring Festival with which it tries to avoid a global contract with its corresponding specifications and free competition.

This is especially serious when district councils, which encompass the neighborhoods of the urban center, are denied the possibility of carrying out investment expenditures of the City Council in their territory, such as repairs in public schools.
