Florals and vertical gardens will wear Murcia during Spring Festival (11/04/2017)

José Ballesta presents the poster and program of the Spring Festival 2017, with a hundred big events from Saturday 15 to Sunday 23. The families will have a place, with spaces in the main gardens and squares of the city, and a programming Of own activities, which includes workshops and free performances.

Music, crafts, workshops, parades, traditions and gastronomy will accompany the Murcia and thousands of visitors who come to Murcia to live the spring hatch in every corner of the city.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, presented today the poster and the program of the Spring Festival 2017, along with the various festive groups, a program with a hundred major events in 70 different locations of The city, between parades, concerts and outdoor activities, which will be held from Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 April, and this year will include a specific program of activities for the whole family in the squares and gardens of the city.

"In Murcia we received the spring in a unique way, with two parties of International Tourist Interest: Bando de la Huerta (Tuesday 18) and Burial of the Sardine (Saturday 22).

Vertical gardens and flower beds in the squares

In this way, spring and Huerta will take the city with floral creations in squares and parks, as well as vertical gardens up to 9 meters high in different districts of Murcia, made with flowers, aromatic plants and products of the earth.

The 13 Spring Gardens that will dress the city during all the celebrations will be able to be visited in the Circular Square, Santo Domingo, Plaza de San Agustín, Plaza de la Universidad, Plaza de Europa, Belluga Square, Glorieta de España, El Malecon, bridge The hospital, Floridablanca Garden, Plaza de la Opinión, Paseo Virgen de la Fuensanta and Plaza Nuestra Señora de Lourdes.

On the other hand, Santo Domingo will be during all the festivals the scene of the Little Performances, with storytellers, magic, the Gang of Drilo and the II Exhibition of Scenic Arts

Halls and garden environments

Las Peñas Huertanas will install their traditional barracks and gardens and squares of Murcia, almost half a hundred huertanos environments, where in addition to tasting the typical cuisine, you can see the decoration and craftsmanship typical of the garden.

The poster that this year illustrates the program announces that 'Spring begins in Murcia', and includes motifs inspired by the orchards, reinforcing the idea that spring floods the city during the holidays.

Also includes allegorical icons to the festive groups such as the huertanas rocks, the Burial of the Sardine, the tunas, etc.

It is an innovative poster with a composition created through graphic design, compared to other techniques used in previous years as painting or photography.

A total of 50,000 programs will be distributed, surpassing that of previous years, in hotels and numerous transit points in the city.
