The Plenary Hall of the City Council has hosted, for the second consecutive year, the celebrations of the International Day of the Gypsy People.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez and the president of the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, Jesús Salmerón, have attended different activities organized with reason Of this day that is celebrated the 8 of April from the year 1971.

The City Council allocates annually a subsidy to the Fundación Secretariado Gitano, specifically, the fight against school truancy and the promotion of employment.
