The 26th edition of Venagua Festival offers 11 inclusive theater, dance and music shows (06/04/2017)

From April 26 to May 20 there will be nine theater performances at the Teatro Romea in Murcia, the Superior School of Dramatic Art and the Municipal Auditorium in Beniaján, two dance performances at Los Rosales in El Palmar and Plaza de Santo Domingo and a concert In the courtyard of the Museum of Las Claras

The XXVI edition of the Venagua Festival, dedicated to art for inclusion and organized by the association Columbares in collaboration with the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture and Social Rights, will offer a total of 11 performances of theater, dance and music, Two workshops and an exhibition.

The objective of this festival is to promote coexistence, respect and tolerance through art, favor the access of all groups and individuals of society to cultural manifestations and present the work of artists with diverse capacities to the society of Murcia.

Thus, from April 26 to May 20 will be held nine theater functions in three scenic venues of the city, Teatro Romea de Murcia, Superior School of Dramatic Art and Municipal Auditorium of Beniaján, two

Dance performances in Los Rosales de El Palmar and Plaza de Santo Domingo and a concert in the courtyard of the Museum of Las Claras.

Likewise, in accordance with the objectives of the festival, three workshops of dance and theater have been programmed for groups that hardly have access to artistic training and an open trial with Ignasi Terraza.

The festival will start on Wednesday, April 26 at 11.30 with the dance show 'Inestable', by the company Ruedapies Danza.

The first of the functions will take place in the square of the Acacias of Los Rosales of El Palmar, the zone of socio-cultural intervention in which the Association Columbares works actively since the year 2014. The same function of dance will be represented the same day to the 19.00 hours in the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

The following day, Thursday, May 27, will open at 7 pm at the Teatro Circo Murcia the exhibition by Eduardo Tomás 'Retales', a plastic arts project carried out for four years by children from the Cordillera Sur within the program Caixa Pro -Infancia of the Columbares Association.

On Saturday April 29 the Teatro Romea will host the show Cascaras Vacías.

Produced by the National Drama Center and Lazona Theater, this work written and directed by Marga Labarga and Laia Ripoll is inspired by the testimonies of Operation T4, the code name that the Nazis gave to their euthanasia program aimed at eliminating People with disabilities, whom they considered "lives unworthy of being lived", "empty shells", and whose first victims were children.

With the direction of Ferran Joanmiquel and starring David Martinez, this work will offer a testimony of the drama of immigration seen through the eyes of a dog, Marley.

Posed as a monologue, "El rey del Gurugú" will make the public feel part of the play acquiring a symbolic role in the work: that of a group of people who have just arrived at Monte del Gurugú and to which the protagonist, Marley , Will tell their story.

Except for the shows scheduled at Teatro Romea, all Venagua Festival shows are free until they reach capacity.
