The Cultural Center of El Carmen welcomes tomorrow a literary debate on the figure of the professional writer and the artist writer (03/04/2017)

The Cultural Center of El Carmen, a subsidiary of the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture, hosts a literary debate tomorrow with the writers Manuel Moyano, Miguel Angel Hernandez and Ana María Tomas.

The event will take place at 20 hours and will be moderated by the journalist and writer, Lola Gracia and is part of the cycle 'Vía de Letras', a book station that has been organizing this cultural center for years.

This will deal with the double aspect of the figure of the writer above all, from the appearance of the literary phenomenon of the best sellers.

The fact that they have been called "cult" authors, more minority and others who are just the opposite, has led sometimes to criticize the fact of valuing the former rather than the latter.

On the other hand, the publishing market has changed ostensibly in the last decade, with a more aggressive and commercial turn, partly due to the appearance of the electronic book on the one hand and its most harmful effect: piracy.

Both Manuel Moyano and Miguel Ángel Hernández have recently been finalists both of the prestigious Herralde Prize (Editorial Anagrama), among other awards.

Ana María Tomas has been a columnist for more than 20 years, first in La Opinión de Murcia, currently in La Verdad.

He has published five poems and is awarded the Mastia Foundation Journalism Award for his article "The Other Euridices".
