The city takes the floor (03/04/2017)

Murcia becomes one of the first cities in Spain that 'speaks' to its inhabitants and tourists with the new free application Blabup, developed in collaboration with the University of Murcia.

It is an innovative audioguide system at the foot of the street, available through the mobile phone, that connects the culture with the people and promotes the tourist attractions of the city.

The streets of Murcia, its monuments and most emblematic corners, the museums of the city, the orchard, the river and even the processions of Holy Week will, for the first time, own voice thanks to a free application developed by the City of Murcia, In collaboration with the University and the technological association AlicanTEC.

With Blabup, Murcia becomes one of the first cities in Spain that 'speaks' to its inhabitants and tourists.

It is an innovative audio guide system at the foot of the street, completely free and available through the mobile phone, that connects the culture with the people and promotes the tourist attractions of the city.

"It is a pioneering social tool that marks a before and after in the way in which neighbors and tourists relate to the city;

Projecting culture, leisure and local commerce in a completely innovative way, "stressed José Ballesta, who pointed out that" in this project, new technologies are at the service of people. "

With this new intelligent system of information and social participation, the Department of Modernization goes one step further in the project of smart city 'MiMurcia', valued by the Ministry of Industry as the most ambitious in all of Spain compared to a total of 111 cities.

The application was presented this morning by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela and the excretor of the University of Alicante, Andrés Pedreño.
