Last Wednesday, the City of Murcia presented the Action Plan for the Bicycle 2017-2019 which provides for the construction of 20.4 kilometers of bike lanes with an overall budget of 3.7 million euros.

Thus, the new councilor responsible for the Bicycle Observatory exposes a new Action Plan "giving shelter" to the Bicycle Master Plan (PDMB).

In this regard, the councilman of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel has expressed his "concern" for "the constant creation of plans and projects to encourage the use of the bicycle in the municipality, projects that view the experience are always draft and that, or not Are executed, or whose execution is halfway to create a new plan, without the necessary preliminary work to evaluate the work carried out.

For the mayor, the bike path in the avenues Kingdom of Murcia, Miguel Induráin and Los Dolores "is not a priority or has the utility that our municipality needs to connect the city."

This proposal "deserves to be studied and revised again to fit it into the new Bicycle Action Plan."

In this line, Tornel has proposed to revise the bike lane project in the avenues, with the purpose of its modification to allocate the budget to the execution of the new bike lanes in the urban area of ​​the municipality.
