La Nave calls the youth associations of the municipality to a meeting to promote participation (21/03/2017)

The day, organized by the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation and called "Ideas, resources and experiences for the promotion of youth participation," last year gathered more than a hundred attendees.

65 associations now have a grant from the City Council to develop their activities, which are mostly educational, cultural and leisure time and in which about 39,000 young people participate.

The inauguration, scheduled on Saturday at 10 o'clock, will be the responsibility of Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez, who considers the day an "open space to know new suggestions, proposals, possibilities for improvement and learning."

Students, youth associations, youth service providers and technicians working in this field are invited to participate next Saturday in a meeting aimed at promoting youth participation through counseling and training.

The day, which will be inaugurated at the La Nave Municipal Youth Center at 10 o'clock by the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, and the Director General of Youth, Francisco Sánchez, is celebrated with the title "Ideas, resources And experiences for the promotion of youth participation "and is expected to last until 14 hours.

The main objective of the City Council with this call is to facilitate a meeting space between the associations of the municipality that operate in the youth field, in addition to disseminating and resolving issues that could arise on the subsidies addressed to associations and entities to The organization of activities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and know the tools that can facilitate good operating practices and increase participation.

"Our commitment is that more and more young people will benefit from the programs we promote from the City Council and at the same time, be aware that the Department is on their side and can be a useful tool, accessible and effective To design and develop their activities, "said Rebeca Perez.

Courses, workshops, exhibitions and publications

The day is aimed at all associations and groups involved in the youth field, and especially the 65 entities that have received financial support from the City of Murcia in the call for grants for 2016/2017 activities, whose total amount amounted to 60,000 euros.

With this municipal contribution the associations are developing training and non-formal education activities, such as courses and workshops (32%);

Cultural events such as competitions, theater, exhibitions, projections or conferences (24%) and leisure and free time, including camping, travel, exchanges, etc.

(13%).

Grants are also used, to a lesser extent, for the publication of publications, concerts, assemblies, sports and volunteer activities.
