Spellings: an initiative that brings fabric of cultural activities to the UMU (20/03/2017)

The cycle includes the seams of Deletreartes, in which eight designers will contribute designs based on literary works

This morning the second edition of the Festival Deletreartes, organized by the Culture Service of the UMU and in which Cajamurcia Foundation participated, was presented in the Hemicycle of the Faculty of Letters.

The festival has offered in the University of Murcia throughout the year 2016 numerous cultural activities.

In the presentation to the media of the 2017 edition have been present Vice Chancellor of Communication and Culture Mónica Galdana Pérez Morales;

The Culture coordinator of the UMU and director of the Festival Diana de Paco;

Leticia Varó, coordinator of "The seams of Deletreartes", and Yolanda Ruano, coordinator of the Second Week of the handwritten letter.

The seams of Spellers

The first edition will be closed with a special project dedicated to fashion: "The Couture of Deletreartes", an event that will serve as a culmination for the activities of the 2014 Spindleart and will serve as a link with the 2017 version of the Festival.

The initiative is co-organized and devised by Leticia Varó, and has as the main thread fashion.

Sponsored by Jaguar-Land Rover, it will begin on March 24 with a round table of Murcia creators: Leonor Pando, Constanza Mas, Cayetana Ferrer, Fernando Aliaga, Pedro Lobo and Nerea Jiménez, to which are added two from outside the region;

Hannibal Laguna and Leyre Valiente.

Each designer has been assigned an author honored in Deletreartes and a work to build his particular vision from the creation of various costumes designs.

From 4 May to 2 June 2017 there will be an exhibition of designs in Convalescence.

In November 2017 will be held the fashion show Murcia Fashion Week.

Ovidio, Zorrilla, Gloria Fuertes and Juan Rulfo

The coordinator of the Festival Deletreartes, Diana de Paco, has ensured that "Spiritist emerged with the vocation to honor authors who were fulfilled, the centenary"

De Paco has highlighted the open and multidisciplinary nature of the cycle, which seeks to bring together different arts around cultural activities.

If last year the activities were articulated around writers such as Cervantes, Shakespeare, Cela, Buero Vallejo or Blas de Otero, this year will be Ovidio, Gloria Fuertes, José Zorrilla, José Luis Sampedro or Juan Rulfo, although the Organizers, intend to "make a spell more open and extensive to all figures of culture and all the facts," and has cited ephemeris as the centenary of the comic or the 75 years of the movie Casablanca.

According to the Diana of Paco, "Deletreartes wants to be a continuous cultural circle, an eternal cultural spring", sustained from the University of Murcia.

Major literary works, visual and visual arts, theatrical or musical premieres will be some of the activities that will be scheduled during this year in an open festival that intends to incorporate the proposals that come in (cultura@um.es)

Deletreartes is structured around two main lines of action:
