Between March 24 and 26, Muria will host the 1st National Open Paddle in Wheelchair, organized by the Paddle Club 5 and the Federation of Sports of Physical Disability in the Region of Murcia in collaboration with the City of Murcia and the Autonomous community.
More than half a hundred athletes from all over Spain, 32 couples nationwide, will participate in the tournament that will take place in the Club PadelNuestro of the hamlet of Tocinos Bridge.
The modality of this tournament will be unique and will participate both male and female couples and mixed.
In addition, organizers have emphasized that any athlete can be registered regardless of their degree of disability.
The registration fee is 20 euros and the deadline for registration is March 23 by email: opennacionamurcia@gmail.com
"The adapted paddle is already recognized as a sport discipline within the Spanish Federation of Sports of Persons with Physical Disability," said Sports and Health Minister Felipe Coello.
In addition, the holder has stated that "this tournament is a great opportunity to favor the integration of these athletes and continue to turn our municipality into the scene of these events."
