The new headquarters of the Pool will host the unit specialized in gender violence (16/03/2017)

All ready for the next opening of this police infrastructure in which about 60 agents will serve and today they have visited the mayor Jose Ballesta and the councilman Lola Sánchez.

This quarter is the second in size of the municipality and joins the other ten that are already underway: Infante, La Fleta, El Esparragal, Alquerías, Beniaján, El Palmar, Espinardo, La Raya, Los Martínez del Puerto and Puente Tocinos.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Councilor for Traffic, Security and Citizen Protection, visited today the new La Alberca Local Police Headquarters, which will open in the coming weeks and will be attended by about 60 agents in one First phase, among them, the Family Protection and Care Team, a specialized service in the care of victims of gender violence.

The barracks of La Alberca will give geographical coverage to four districts: La Alberca, Santo Ángel, Algezares and Aljucer, representing an area of ​​42 km2 and some 31,500 inhabitants.

In this first phase, 20 agents of the Decentralization Unit (coverage in districts) and some 40 policemen of four special groups will be installed that give service to all the municipality, although it is anticipated that new personnel will be added of progressive way, since the installations Have capacity for 150 professionals.

This quarter is the second in size of the municipality (the first is the Infante neighborhood), and joins the ten barracks already underway in Murcia: Infante, La Fleta, El Esparragal, Alquerías, Beniaján, El Palmar, Espinardo, La Raya, Los Martínez del Puerto and Tocinos Bridge.

Increased protection for victims of domestic violence

These new facilities allow us to offer a better service to citizens and of higher quality.

In addition, in the new space, attention will be provided with greater privacy, an essential issue to guarantee the safety of victims of domestic violence and gender, through the Family Protection and Care Team, which will be transferred from Central Headquarters to The new facilities.

This specialized team, which was created in 2008, is made up of five women workers who work in uniform and use a camouflaged patrol vehicle to carry out their work effectively and with maximum privacy, both in the movements of the victims and their transfer to hospitals Or judged, as in the care of these women and their children.

The other three special groups moving from Infante to La Alberca are the Accident Investigation Team (attestations), the Ecological Patrol and the Information Service, a specialized group working in collaboration with the courts and tribunals.

In addition to the new facilities of the building, which has a constructed area of ​​more than 2,400 meters, between 15 and 20 patrol vehicles will compose the initial endowment of the barracks.

The building, which has a basement and four floors, has been built by 167 students of the workshop school in successive phases, thus incorporating unemployed young people into the world of work while doing public works.

Reinforcement of security: more working hours and 21 new agents

The City Council has increased security in the municipality with 53,100 hours of work per year by Local Police agents, through the assignment to the Roundup Reinforcement Complementary Regime of 354 municipal employees of this service.

"The police have intensified their presence with direct interventions and carried out important preventive work on the streets of our municipality," said José Ballesta, who added that "the security of the neighbors is a priority issue for this Government Team."

In addition to the current 580 agents of the Local Police, the City Council has convened 21 new places within the Public Employment Offer of 2016, whose bases are in the process of being drawn up.
