Murcia will be the national capital of the fantastic cinema from March 24 to April 1 (14/03/2017)

The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, attended the 6th edition of the European Fantastic Film Festival of Murcia (C-FEM), which will be held from 24 March to 1 April with the Film Library of The Region of Murcia as its main headquarters and whose axis will be violence.

This year, the C-FEM will project a record number: 21 films, seven of them in the official section and 14 in thematic cycles.

Also, this year will be screened two youth films and four non-European films within the new section 'Other worlds'.

In this edition will pay homage to the actress Macarena Gómez, who will receive on March 31 the 'Serial killer' award in Murcia for his career in the fantastic cinema.

On the same day, on 31 March, the C-FEM will receive the visit of another illustrious Spanish filmmaker, Diego López, director of the section 'Brigadoon' Sitges-International Festival of Fantastic Cinema of Catalonia and director of the film to contest ' Heirs of the Beast '.

In addition, the festival will also award the 'Nosferatu' award, which recognizes those professionals in the audiovisual sector who support the C-FEM, the Murcia film critic Antonio Rentero.

Other films will include some of the masterpieces of the genre, such as' The Orange Mechanics' (Stanley Kubrick, 1971), 'The Silence of the Lambs' (Jonathan Demme, 1991),' 1995) or 'The Day of the Beast' (Alex de la Iglesia, 1995).

In parallel, there will be talks, workshops, round tables and other activities in the section 'Off Cinema'.

The closing, on April 1 at 8:30 pm, will be carried out by the indie group Murciano Perro, who has composed for the occasion a soundtrack for 'M, the vampire of Düsseldorf' (1931), the first soundtrack of director Fritz Lang.

With the aim of bringing cinema closer to all audiences, the C-FEM organization collaborates with the Association for the care of people with Autism and Developmental Disorders of the Region of Murcia (Astrade) through an inclusive film session In the Film Library.

The C-FEM is an event organized by The Idea Tank sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Department of Culture of the City of Murcia, Association of Merchants Commercial Area Murcia Center, Murcia Commercial Area, Neighborhood Association of Vistabella, Salzillo Tea & Coffee, Europe Direct and Fnac.

The event also has the collaboration of the Association of Merchants of the Center of Murcia, School of Design of the Region of Murcia, Muchachita Films, Leisure Bar, the School of Dramatic Arts, Birraseries and Tic Tag.

In addition, 7 Television Region of Murcia is the official communication medium of the festival.
