The City Council uses the latest technology to identify possible archaeological remains in the avenue Alfonso X el Sabio (13/03/2017)

The Councilor for Development, Roque Ortiz, supervised a few days ago the works that are being carried out on Avenida Alfonso X El Sabio, prior to the works of pedestrianization of this centric road.

Thus, the subsoil is being studied by profiles with a georadar in order to know the existence of remains of Arabian wall and, if it is detected, delimit it on surface and in depth.

The georradar is a method of investigation that consists of emitting electromagnetic waves and any anomaly existing in the subsoil (pipe, hollow, archaeological remains ...) produces a reflection.

The results obtained are reflected in a graph known as a radargram.

The profiles in the avenue are being realized with a antenna of 450 MHz that allows to reach a depth of investigation of around 5 meters.

Later they will be realized with a antenna of 750 MHz reaching a depth of investigation of 2 meters.

With the radargramas obtained in the field works will be elaborated a report that will allow to specify the works to develop in the project of pedestrianization.
