Social Rights program various activities for more than one hundred people at risk of social exclusion (10/03/2017)

The Government Board has given the green light to the approval of the community project 'Murcia Solidarity, Committed and Inclusive' of the Volunteer Office of the municipal center of Social Services 'City of Murcia'.

The fundamental objectives of the program, launched by the Council of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero and with an amount of 45,000 euros, are raising public awareness of the need to participate in solving the social problems of their Community and capture initiatives related to situations of need and social exclusion detected in the environment and transform them into projects.

In addition, it is intended to develop training and training activities aimed at volunteers who provide assistance to people or groups in situations of social exclusion, as well as promote actions that facilitate the integration of this group, creating spaces for meeting and help these people To acquire the confidence and skills necessary to deal with problems.

For this, they organize days of coexistence, workshops of healthy habits and schools of winter and summer, formation for the volunteerism and projects of mediation with gypsy families of the Neighborhood of La Paz.

In the summer and winter schools activities are carried out after school by voluntary groups and target a total of 150 children in the municipality aged between 5 and 16 years.

They are carried out in the neighborhoods of Santiago el Mayor, Santiago and Zaraíche, La Paz and La Fama.

A total of 40 volunteers are expected to participate.

Likewise, in the days of living with people with physical disabilities, leisure activities in nature are developed adapted to the characteristics and needs of this group.

All this counting on a group of 8 volunteers with experience in this field.

It is aimed at a total of 25 people with physical disabilities, over 18 years of age with limited resources.

The project for mediation with Roma families in the Barrio de La Paz is aimed at 12 families with children of school age, while the group intervention project with unemployed adults is aimed at 20 people who are without work, with loads Family and in a possible situation of social exclusion.

Finally, a workshop on healthy habits in childhood will be developed to encourage parents to develop skills and attitudes that foster the integral growth of their children through knowledge about children's health, safety and behavior .

It is planned that 20 parents from the neighborhood of La Paz will participate.
