The Government Board has approved the acquisition of pharmaceutical products for half a thousand people without resources, for which it allocates a fund of 18,000 euros.
With this measure, the Council of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero, seeks to guarantee access to medicines of this group in a situation of social exclusion, so that an adequate health care is guaranteed.
The measure is especially aimed at people who are transients and homeless, who immediately require the availability of adequate medication to respond to their health problems.
In this way, it is possible for the beneficiaries of the measure to treat their diseases, which are largely chronic.
To do this, pharmacies dispense drugs prescribed and authorized by municipal social services and process the payment through the Official Association of Pharmacists, responsible for centralizing information from the pharmacy offices of the municipality, and its subsequent billing to the City.
