The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, received this morning the president of the Local Youth Council of Murcia, Ricardo Zaragoza, who presented the annual report of the youth centers of the 2016.
A total of 137,000 young people participated in the last academic year 2015/2016 in the activities organized in the three Municipal Youth Centers of the City of Murcia: La Nave (Tocinos Bridge), space 585 m2 (in the neighborhood of Santa Maria de Gracia) And the del Palmar - these last two managed by the Council of the Youth.
The participation has increased thanks to the increase in the educational and leisure offer of the municipal centers for young people, who have received a total of 782 activities during the past course between exhibitions, courses, workshops, seminars, concerts, projections and leisure activities. The average participation was 168 youths per day.
Specifically, the average age of users of these spaces is 23 years, many of them belonging to the more than 200 associations and groups that enjoy these public facilities, and also organize assemblies and meetings.
The three spaces are points of reference in youth formation, culture and participation and form a network of facilities and resources that the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation facilitates to all young people, associations and groups to promote their free and effective participation in the Political, social, economic and cultural development of the municipality.
