La Chirigota de Beniaján and the Quartet 'El Destrío' of the same hamlet organize, for the fifth consecutive year, the National Competition of Chirigotas City of Murcia and return, one more edition, to hang the poster 'Tickets sold out' at the Teatro Romea .
In this fifth edition, which will offer next Saturday two sessions (at 18 and 22 hours), the participating groups are the chirigota of Beniaján under the name of 'Iberian males', the chirigota del Vera (Cadiz) Red planet ... but red, red ', and the comparsa of Antonio Martinez Ares,' Eternity '.
In the morning, from 12 o'clock in the Plaza del Romea, a chirigotero aperitif will be celebrated in an informal and casual way, enlivened by the groups participating in the Contest, the Chirigota de Molina de Segura and the traditional romanceros who will pass by there Sing and share the hours before the Contest.
The Association Assido Cartagena, chosen in this occasion 'Pito Solidario', will install an informative exhibitor of its work.
Likewise, the Chirigota de Beniaján will award the award to the Chirigotero of the Year, which falls to a public figure, who has opted for the Chirigotas and for its dissemination in a determined manner.
This year will be given to the tennis player Nico Almagro, great follower of the chirigotas.
