Horticultural workshops, bike routes, carriage rides, costumbristas exhibitions and ecological food fair, protagonists of the day of Saturday of the II Week of the Orchard (08/03/2017)

The Garden of the Malecón, the enclosure of La Azacaya, the Plan of San Francisco and the mills of the Aljufía will be the stages next Saturday of the II Week of the Orchard of Murcia, organized by the Department of Urbanism, Orchard and Environment.

In this way, the Malecon garden will host the Biodiversity Fair from 10.30 am to 7 pm, in which various activities will take place, among which are an exhibition and exchange of seeds of local varieties, sponsorship of local peach varieties and exhibition of Edible wild plants of the Huerta de Murcia

In addition, different workshops will be developed such as vertical orchards and home gardens, cultivation in therapeutic gardens, elaboration of 'green living balls', composting, home remedies with plants, local seed production and natural protection of the orchard through Of the auxiliary plants.

The gastronomy will also have its space in this fair with workshops on 'New vegetables at your table.

Health and Hedonism ', cooking with gluten-free whole grain cereals and salads, dressings and vegetable pates with wild plants.

On the other hand, the event 'Estampa huertana: Tradiciones y costumbres' will be held at La Azacaya, from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm, which will include an exhibition and demonstrations of huertan folklore, exhibition Of breeds of indigenous animals of Murcia, exhibition of colombiculture, exhibition of crafts and crafts of the orchard, walk through the lanes of the orchard in cars and carriages, and tasting of typical products of the orchard.

The San Francisco Plan will be the stage, from 9 to 20 hours, of the Fair of production and organic food in which attendees will be able to buy organic and local products from the Huerta de Murcia.

The bike will also be protagonist in this day, with the guided tour 'Strolling through the Mills of the Aljufía', which will leave 10 hours from the beginning of the Paseo del Malecón and will travel 14 kilometers passing through the mills of Love, the 4 Stones , Gasques, the Gunpowder and Casianos.

The route will pass through the Wheel of the Ñora, the Mill Lane of the Casianos, the Road of the Wild, the Magaz bridge, the Luise's Lane, the Guadalupe road, the Andreus lane, the Penchos Lane, , Avenida de la Nora, Carril Alarcones and Carril de los Chornos, with return to Murcia by the bike path.

The II Week of the Orchard of Murcia, organized by the City Council together with the Association of Friends of the Orchard Azacaya, proposes about a hundred activities for all ages and the participation of about twenty groups and local groups, which Aim to bring Murcia and visitors the environmental, gastronomic, patrimonial and cultural wealth of the Huerta de Murcia.
