CreaMurcia, 25 years promoting the artistic creativity of young people (07/03/2017)

The registration period starts tomorrow and for the first time can be done online.

Among the novelties of this edition is the creation of a fund to help pay for the rental costs of the rehearsal premises and the discipline of fashion design and micro-narratives is called.

CreaMurcia Contest reaches the 25th edition with the same objective as it was launched: to promote and promote the creativity of young people, to awaken vocations and concerns, as well as to create spaces, scenarios and opportunities for young people to express their talent .

After twenty-five years of existence, explained the Councilor for Youth and Development Cooperation, Rebeca Pérez, "this contest is a priority framework for cultural expression, both in terms of production and the exchange of ideas, being a privileged showcase of New creations in the strategy of art trends ".

In order to attend to the multidisciplinary diversity and experimentation of the current artistic practice, the CreaMurcia 2017 competition comprises 12 disciplines: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Comic, Short and Documentary, Photography, Gastronomy, Literature (Story, Poetry and Music, Pop-Rock Music, Other Music Trends, Music Author Song, and for the first time fashion design (Clothing and Accessories).

In the musical discipline, as a novelty this year, establishes a fund of aid for the expenses of rent of test room to the most outstanding groups.

The winners will also have the option to participate in the poster of numerous festivals that will be held in the municipality, such as: Lemon Pop, Big-Up, Repanocha or Christmas Rock, Murciasemueve or Wam.

Other novelties of this edition will be the calls for the discipline of fashion design, in the categories of clothing and accessories, and the incorporation of micro-stories in the literature option.

1,600 participants in 2016

CreaMurcia is open to the participation of young Murcia (or residents in the municipality) born between January 1, 1982 and December 31, 2001. Last year registered 1,600 new creators and this edition is expected to exceed that number.

The registration period, which can also be made online (www.informajoven.org), begins tomorrow, day 8, and closes, depending on the discipline on the following dates;

Music / Pop-Rock: March 27, Music / Other Trends: April 3, Gastronomy: April 10, Photography: April 21, Music / Song of the Artist: April 28, Plastic Arts: May 4, May 9, Visual Arts: May 12, Literature: May 18, Short and Documentary: May 23, Fashion Design: May 26 and Performing Arts: May 30.

The budget for this edition amounts to 200,000 euros.

First, second and third prizes are awarded, or first prize and prizes, depending on the modality.

The jury of each of the disciplines, chaired by Councilwoman Rebecca Perez, will be composed of specialists of recognized professional, intellectual, cultural or artistic prestige.

In their evaluations they will take into account creativity, artistic quality and conceptual innovation.

In addition, as part of the contest, the City of Murcia, in order to promote the most outstanding artists of this call, will promote their participation in meetings, exchanges, events and artistic and cultural events both nationally and internationally.

The Councilor for Youth has highlighted that "many artists who are now in the front line, took their first artistic steps in CreaMurcia, such as Carlos Santos, Dani Albaladejo, Salva Espín, Rozalén, Second, Funambulista, Alondra Bentley, Pablo Almansa , David López Carreño, Sergio Martínez, Jose Manuel Carrasco, Miguel Fructuoso, Carmen Cantabella, Manu Pérez López, Manu Riquelme, among others.
