The UCAM, home of the national call for the most creative in applications of social impact (03/03/2017)

The Catholic University in Murcia, along with 22 other universities in Alicante, Barcelona, ​​Cáceres, Cartagena, Ciudad Real, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, León, Madrid, Salamanca, Seville, Valencia, Valladolid and Vigo, will award the development of creative applications And innovation that generate social impact.

The hundreds of developers who build their initiatives during the hackathon, March 9-11, will have the opportunity to opt for fifteen HackForGood Local Awards that distribute 2,000 euros among the top three of each venue, three Global HackForGood Awards for the three best (5,000, 3,000 and 1,000 €), Continuity HackForGood to continue developing the application and a scholarship to study a Master in Software Engineering.

There will also be a distinction for the best applications that address challenges related to education, intellectual disability, the development of STEM vocations among women and the detection of false news as well as for those who base their development on the use of Serious Games, which Have the best design or contribute to the goals of sustainable development.

This initiative, coordinated by the Technological Institute of UCAM together with the Telefónica University Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era of the same, has been promoted by Telefónica, ETSI Telecommunication of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Hazloposible Foundation and The startup MashmeTV with the support of the Network of Telefónica Chairs, and is open to all those who individually or in a group, register for free through the official website hackforgood.net.

The evaluation of the development of these applications, and the work with a massive use of data, will be done taking into account the creativity and the innovation of the proposed solution, the degree of finishing obtained during the hackathon, and the social impact of the proposal in Relation to the challenges that the mentors will raise in the first session.

The fifth edition of HackForGood will put its finishing touch next September when it celebrates the First HackForGood Big Day, which will see the winning projects in each of the 15 venues.
