Citizens require the Minister of Culture to explain if WAM is the new brand that replaces SOS 4.8 (19/02/2017)

The municipal group Citizens has today demanded the Minister of Culture, Noelia Arroyo, to explain if WE ARE MURCIA (WAM) is the new brand that will replace the consolidated SOS 4.8.

The mayor of the orange formation Paqui Pérez expects the Minister of Culture to clarify this matter as soon as possible, after confirming that the mark WE ARE MURCIA (WAM) has been registered with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office on 10 February. Name of Producciones Baltimore, the company that, according to Noelia Arroyo, was to organize the next edition of the festival SOS 4.8.

"It is regrettable the political management that since Culture is being made of this cultural event," said Councilor Paqui Pérez, who has warned Culture that "if this is true, the regional government will generate another conflict with the March of this festival in place of the consolidated SOS 4.8 ".

"As there is clear evidence that Baltimore Productions, which registers the name WAM, is going to carry out this festival, it follows that it is a private company that would once again be the owner of the brand of a paid event with Public money, "said Perez.

In addition, concluded the mayor of Cs, everything is complicated if we consider that we are faced with an alleged direct negotiation without advertising, and for which the regional government pays more than 300,000 euros of public money.
