The University of Murcia (UMU) has launched what has been called "The Healthy Route of the 10,000 Steps", with a round trip of eight kilometers and whose purpose is to encourage physical exercise among students.
The itinerary, which is marked with marks on the pavement, surrounds the Espinardo campus and crosses it through the Paseo Verde, a pedestrian zone free of traffic.
This activity is included in the Sustainable Campus, which also has three other routes that leave the university grounds, designed for hiking and meeting places highlighted by its environmental interest.
The information of the routes is available to those interested in http://www.um.es/web/campussostenible
