With the title "Speak the Old Prison", the Social Classroom FORUM, Vice-Rectorate of Communication and Culture of the University of Murcia, organizes the viewing of the documentary of the same title and a debate on the "Past and Present of the Old Jail. And management of citizen spaces ", in order to generate public opinion on the political planning of the Old Prison.
The event will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 5:30 pm in the Aula Antonio Soler de La Merced, and will be attended by José Sánchez (Colectivo "Historical Memory"), Felipe Iracheta ( "Citizen Forum"), Luzy Sombra Coordinator of "Anti-Repression"), Virginia Villaplana (Professor of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the University of Murcia), and Blanca Pérez de Tudela and Jeanette Conesa (authors of the documentary).
The debate will focus on making proposals on how to recover for citizenship these spaces that in the past were places of repression and isolation.
According to the organizers, the Old Prison represents a magnificent space from which to project the social value of culture, by recovering it for the development of a cultural, participatory and cohesive citizenship.
