The City Council joins the celebration of the International Day of Deaf People with various activities (22/09/2016)

On Saturday the International Day of the Deaf is celebrated and for that the city of Murcia has joined the organization of the events held on this occasion, through the Department of Social Rights, headed Conchita Ruiz Caballero and the Department Sports and Health directing Felipe Coello.

In addition, the city of Murcia joins the Manifesto for the International Day of the Deaf with the Association.

Specifically on October 2 at 10:00 from the Square, will be held the IV charity Relay Race of the Association of Parents of Children with Hearing and Language (ASPANPAL) and the presentation of the Guide for Families of children / as with hearing and language.

ASPANPAL is a private non-profit, federated nationally FIAPAS (Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf People), and Fasen (Federation of Associations of Parents of Deficient Sensory Hearing) at regional level, whose primary objective is to pay attention and It helps people with hearing disabilities in their educational, family, work and social context.

Ruiz Caballero said that the City Council "support and foster the integration of this group mitigating the problems that their lack of hearing you can present".

"We will fight for removing communication barriers for these people and support families in the education of deaf children and the protection of their health, since the presence of hearing impairment in a child causes very significant changes in the all their interactions with others, having a very significant impact on their cognitive, social, emotional and language development, "said councilman Health, Felipe Coello.

ASPANPAL currently provides early care to 52 children under 6 hearing impairment, and 35 children and adolescents aged 6 years and makes a service and support to families of deaf people, having today 340 associates in Murcia.

Finally, the councilman of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz Caballero participate in reading the Manifesto hand Deaf Federation of the Region of Murcia (FESORMU) in the Garden of geraniums Zarandona.
