The new segregated bike lane that will connect South Ronda and Juan de Borbon will be ready in mid-2017 (19/09/2016)

The Municipal Observatory of the Bicycle, chaired by the Councillor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sanchez and which was attended by councilors of the various local political groups, studied the new segregated bike path linking Ronda Sur with Avenida Juan de Borbon.

This section, which is currently in the process of hiring, will run along Avenida Miguel Indurain, Kingdom of Murcia Avenue and Avenida de Los Dolores.

You have a total length of about 7 kilometers and a lead time of four months, so, predictably, will become operational in mid 2017. The City will invest in this project 788,525.92 Euros.

The one-way bike lane will be segregated both the pedestrian traffic as representing a great improvement in comfort and safety especially for cyclists, will have an effective width of 2.55 meters and circular spacers will have to protect the rider from rail traffic adjacent circulation.

To give greater visibility photoluminescent some red bollards rubber (every 16 m) which will provide a visual barrier for motor vehicles will also be installed.

When performing the works, it will be required to run in sections to avoid traffic condition in these avenues.

This new section is part of Network project 20 kilometers Bike Lanes completely segregated and connected together and adds to the 2.5 kilometers of bike lanes Butte Segura river passing through the town city Murcia, which in August was published in the BORM for recruitment.
