6 Non-Governmental Organizations for Development (NGO) murcianas Blue in Action Diagram Foundation Humanism and Democracy Foundation, Caritas Murcia, Mullion and Gifts Love Association Foundation have been designated to form the Cooperation Council for the next year.

These organizations, which are renewed annually, will have among its functions: to propose the adoption of which tend towards the fulfillment of the municipal budget items on cooperation and solidarity, as well as its distribution appropriate action.

NGOs who have been assigned over the past year have been: Surgery Solidarity, Solidarity Answers, services and outreach activities, SED and Spanish Red Cross.

They must also know the basis of calls for subsidies annually conducted, advise the City Council and cooperate with it on cooperation and solidarity, propose campaigns of public awareness on the situation of the countries called Third World, as well as roads aid and solidarity.

Among other functions, the NGOs appointed shall propose actions for the dissemination of the values ​​of peace, tolerance, solidarity and non-violent conflict resolution;

will conduct campaigns of Human Rights and support for them;

and will organize meetings, courses and seminars on cooperation and solidarity.

As explained by Rebeca Perez, these organizations "will channel the participation of citizens from disasters, unforeseen and emergency situations, through a fund created for that purpose and meet the grant applications submitted in calls related to cooperation and solidarity ".

The Cooperation Council, which depends on the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, who heads Rebeca Perez, is advisory in nature and consists of 19 members who meet twice a year.
