Eduardo Ribes, coordinator of international cooperation of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God (Province Aragon-San Rafael) and representative of the NGO Juan City, and the mayor of Development Cooperation of the Municipality of Murcia, Rebeca Perez, have maintained a working meeting in order to assess the project triage unit in the hopital of Lunsar (Sierra Leone), which had the collaboration of the Consistory Murcia through this council.
As Ribes explains, "the triage unit has been used to help assess patients before entering the hospital premises to avoid infection".
It also highlights that "we must thank the city of Murcia collaboration with a project that has meant an important aid to the Sierra Leonean society as a whole".
"Through the NGO Juan City", centered in the region of Murcia is rooted in Jesus Forsaken Foundation, "the Order of San Juan de Dios tries, with the help of society and institutions, support the work of the various centers in Africa, Latin America and Asia, "notes Ribes.
The Hospitaller Order of St. John of God has a hospital and a health center in Sierra Leone.
These two centers were affected by the Ebola epidemic in Africa, but have now reopened its doors since January 2015.
For its part, the mayor Rebeca Perez stressed that "the City Council and the Department for Development Cooperation always looks to address the problems and this is one of the examples," allowing the triage unit much faster diagnoses.
