Councillor for Traffic and Public Safety, Lola Sanchez, attended yesterday in Madrid to the Board of the Network of Cities for the Bicycle, which holds the vice presidency Murcia
The main agreement of this session was the approval of an agreement with the Municipal Federation of Municipalities and Provinces for the exchange of best practices and mutual administrative assistance.
This agreement aims to "create an adequate framework for collaboration, exchange of experiences and the promotion and dissemination of good practice between the FEMP and RCxB in the field of sustainable mobility, improving environmental quality, the use of public transport in general, and particularly non-motorized vehicles and reducing the negative effects generated by the use of private vehicles ".
Also the development and implementation of Urban Mobility Plans in municipalities that are part of the network as well as in the municipalities of the FEMP special attention safety, sustainability, efficiency and accessibility will be promoted.
The network will collect, study and make proposals to the contributions and suggestions from the FEMP regarding the bike and its potential strategies to promote the Spanish authorities implement effectively promote cycling as a clean, sustainable vehicle and not pollutant.
They will also be studied and shared with the FEMP proposals to improve and increase infrastructure for cycling.
Meanwhile, the FEMP disseminate among partner municipalities activities of the Network and develop and disseminate best practices decalogues bicycle as a vehicle for regular use, safe and sustainable, non-polluting.
