Culture receives the documentation for the recognition of 'The Morning Salzillo' by UNESCO 11 months after being declared BIC (29/02/2016)

The Minister of Culture and government spokesman, Noelia Arroyo, received this morning from the president of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, Antonio Gómez FAYREN, documentation have been developed to advance the inclusion of 'The Morning Salzillo 'in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.

This work is a step since the Community declared, eleven months ago now, of Cultural Interest, with the Intangible category, the Good Friday procession in Murcia and everything around this event.

"This work aims to achieve the great cultural claim that would be included in the UNESCO list, but every step taken is an achievement that supposed to defend and highlight our unique traditions with elements of incalculable cultural value," said Noelia Arroyo.

Among the documents submitted for study and analysis, is a new video made with more than 80 hours of audiovisual content used for the realization of the documentary series 'The Morning Salzillo', composed of 12 chapters ten minutes, developed by the Integra Foundation, under the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment.

With this documentation, work continues to gather adherents to the initiative and deepening the knowledge and dissemination of 'Morning Salzillo'.

The Minister of Culture congratulated the members of the brotherhood "for the great work done, because the requirements for disclosure are hard, there are many conditions and criteria to be met and for two and a half years have been collecting all necessary information to take this new step. "

Although it is still not possible to speak of any term, Arroyo was convinced that "without doubt, our 'Morning Salzillo' meets all the requirements of UNESCO and we will defend the candidacy and fight for soon enjoy this recognition".

The declaration of 'The Morning Salzillo' as Cultural Interest (BIC), on 27 March, was justified by the artistic quality of the sculpture, with significance in the region, which has led to a whole school of imagery, and in the history of international art.

the architectural framework that is exposed permanently, the Church of Jesus;

and the importance of the emotional links established by citizens.
