The Jeronimos Monastery, host from 2 to 6 March, the International Congress Laudato Si ', which will have as its main axis the encyclical of the same name, promulgated by Pope Francisco last year, in which we reflect on the importance environmentalism integral who understands the nature as a place to welcome and dialogue with all.

The inaugural event will take place next Wednesday at 17h in the Jeronimos Monastery, home of the UCAM.

In the event that will open the event Cardinal Peter Turkson intervene, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace;

Monsignor Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena;

José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM;

and the rector of the University, Josefina Garcia.

This event will also take place starting the conference "The concept of integral ecology in the encyclical Laudato Si 'which will give the Cardinal Turkson.

D Throughout the five days last Congress, will involve great experts of ecclesial, academic and artistic field that will reflect on the current problems related to the environment.

Examples include Cardinal Antonio Cañizares, archbishop of Valencia, who will speak on Catholic education and care of the common house ;, Dan Britt, director of the Center for the Lunar Surface and Asteroids NASA, which will reflect on the Ice age climate history and Stefano Zamagni and professor of Political Economy at the University of Bologna, among many others.

In addition, Congress Laudato Si 'will feature several parallel activities to panel discussions and presentations by experts, such as: a film series on environmental care, screening of short films awarded in the different editions of Ecological Festival' The firefly Fused UCAM 'and the photo contest' Photoecolo ', several exhibitions such as environmentally friendly vehicles will also be the exhibition of paintings by the Muher artists, a sports gear or even a tasting of an organic menu, accompanied by a showcooking chocolate.

Ecumenism also be starring in this conference, with the participation of Policarpos Stavropoulos, Archbishop Metropolitan of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople;

Nestor Sirotenko, archbishop of Russian Patriaracado for France, Spain and Portugal;

Timotei Lauran, Metropolitan Archbishop of Spain and Portugal;

Nicolaos Matti Abd Alahad, archbishop of the Syrian Orthodox Patriarchate Spain;

P. Joan, vicar of the Patriarchate of Serbia in Spain and Joel Cortés i Casals, president of the Permanent Commission of the Spanish Evangelical Church.

In this regard include the celebration of the ecumenical day of prayer for the care of creation to take place on Thursday 3rd at 20: 30h in the parish of St. Francis of Assisi (Murcia).

In addition to academic activities and parallel events Congress will begin each day with the celebration of the Holy Mass, the culmination of Christian life.

Neocatechumenal Meeting

To conclude the Congress, Sunday March 6 at 16: 00h on the esplanade of parking UCAM will be a meeting with the initiator of the Neocatechumenal Way, Kiko Argüello.

The Neocatechumenal Way is an itinerary of Catholic formation that is lived within parishes and is present in over one hundred countries on five continents.

It is expected to attend this event thousands of attendees.
