Rebeca Perez, Councillor for Youth and Development Cooperation, visited the Language Club youth center 585 m2 to meet the host project "Murcia, European city", which lasts six months and is carried out with funding from the Erasmus Program Plus, action European Voluntary Service.
This is an initial visit, especially designed for young Belgian volunteer with visual impairment who work in the program European Project for six months from the end of February.
Thus, it is known before the center where it will work, the tasks to be performed and the environment, which in this case is the city of Murcia.
This visit is done in collaboration with the ONCE (National Organization for the Blind) and the aim of this project is to develop active participation in Murcia and enhancing European citizenship.
"The inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, especially for young people with disabilities, aims to achieve promote autonomy, encourage their participation and giving voice to disability programs Youth Service.
Thus, participation is promoted in all European programs without any conditions, "said Rebeca Perez.
Volunteers will conduct relating to European citizenship (Week of Europe Language Club, ...) and youth participation, such as municipal libraries, educational and cultural center activities or associations.
In addition they will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team where they will participate in the design, implementation, management and evaluation of European youth programs.
