Gourmet routes to discover the historical heritage and family leisure activities to put the finishing touches on the First Week of the Huerta (26/02/2016)

The proposals, open to the participation of all Murcia, allow you to enjoy a weekend full of initiatives to rediscover this natural, cultural and historical environment of Murcia.

A popular food in the Garden of Malecón close seven days have focused fifty initiatives with the Huerta de Murcia protagonist.

I Week Huerta saved for Saturday and Sunday morning some open to the participation of all residents and thought to value this unique and singular own this land space more attractive and family oriented leisure activities.

The typical gastronomy will play a key role.

On the one hand, with the celebration of the Ruta de la Tapa de la Huerta, organized in collaboration with Hostemur and who have joined about thirty establishments offering exclusive tapas made with typical Murcian products and drink with a price of 2 ,50 euros.

Among the most murcianas and innovative tapas highlight the huertana skewer, morcilla candy, cone pastry stuffed with ratatouille murciano or tenderloin flat Murcia on puff paste with garlic oil murciana sobradada.

Also organized by the Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, in the vicinity of the Cathedral Food Fair, which for two days will make available to the Murcian orchard products offered directly from their producers will be installed.

The space will be shared by the Fair of Shoes Huertanas Traditions, sponsored by the Merchants Association Carmelitani which will be presented and will see the uses, costumes and traditions of the garden.

Outreach and dissemination of the heritage of the garden that will take place the weekend include holding a photography marathon and several visits to historical and cultural heritage.

Regarding the former, it is an invitation throughout Saturday to capture and collect photographs moments in artistic and natural landscapes to capture their essence.

Information and registration will take place at the information booth on the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

In order to raise awareness of the heritage that has the garden, proposals organized for this weekend are:

- Our historical heritage: water and ferris wheel La Ñora: Declared BIC in 1982, are planned five acts over the two days to learn about different aspects related to the hydraulic system of the orchard, biodiversity or water management.

All this through workshops and role playing.

- Our historical heritage: Molino del Amor: La Albatalía.

There will be visits both days at 11 am, with presentations and participatory debates.

- Our agricultural heritage.

Harisa organic farm, which combines ecology, tradition and innovation, and where in addition to discover the traditional agricultural activity, there will also be a children's workshop on organic farming.

Moreover, on Sunday there will also be oriented towards the family leisure activities:

- Bicycle route to the wheel of La Ñora, which will be released on Sunday at 10.30 hours from the Paseo del Malecon and completed a tour of 15 kilometers.

- Family March for the garden.

Itinerary walk to the Mill of Love along 6.5 kilometers, departing from the Paseo del Malecón at 11 hours.

- Popular food: in the garden of the Malecon, open to the participation of all.

I Week Huerta is an initiative promoted by the City Council together with the Association of Friends of the Huerta Azacaya, with the collaboration of the Board of Landowners Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, Merchants Association Carmelitani Ecopatrimonio, Ecoespuña, Murcia Huerta Live Huerta Bizarra and Hostemur.
