The City pampers the historic almez of Puebla de Soto (24/02/2016)

The City Council, through the Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, works continuously in carrying out the necessary care to maintain existing unique trees in the village.

Thus, in recent months the Department of Parks and Gardens has performed in the historic almez of Puebla de Soto, which experts say is among the top 15 nationally hackberry, most present in the Levant and Catalonia, Southeastern Iberian and Caceres.

It has also recovered an old grinder and placed under the tree for anyone to enjoy.

Similarly, the City Council, in collaboration with the association Anse, will rehabilitate and highlight a route from the hackberry to the river, about 120 linear meters, where poplars will be planted.

This unique tree, located in the Mill Olma, is healthy and without defects.

It has a structure quite safe glass and a trunk in good condition.

In recent months the Department of Parks and Gardens has conducted two performances during 2015: pruning with lifting platform, which consisted of removing dead branches and other pruning visual inspection.

This issue is more than 18 meters and its trunk circumference is almost four meters in diameter

The hackberry of Puebla de Soto is considered a 'Tree of Local Interest' by the Municipal Green Areas and Woodland Viario the municipality of Murcia because it is considered a protected property, equity interest, and to be preserved.

In these regulations are cataloged about 80 trees of interest.
