The more than 180 catering establishments participating in the campaign have achieved vidrio' '100% recycled 1,500 kg of glass per day (23/02/2016)

Success of the campaign "100% glass', organized by the Department of Public Works and Ecovidrio between catering establishments in the municipality.

Since it was set up last December 7, this initiative has made the 188 participating restaurants and bars recycled 59,000 kilograms of waste glass containers, representing about 1,500 kilograms a day.

Councilman Works, Roque Ortiz, and area manager Ecovidrio, Roberto Fuentes, have delivered this morning prize for conducting an advertising campaign worth 3.000 euros to the restaurant Aquarium for exemplary environmental performance during the initiative ' 100% glass'.

Second place was Pepita Thumbelina and third placed Fictions.

In addition to the amount of recycled glass it has property valued involvement in the campaign and spreading that have made it on social networks.

So Aquarium restaurant has had a collection volume for the duration of the campaign of 544.5 kilograms.

This contest was created as a dynamic complement to the collection campaign 'door to door' created by Ecovidrio in collaboration with the city of Murcia.

With these actions, the non-profit organization aims to promote the recycling of glass in the hospitality channel, because in Spain it generates 50% of waste glass container for single use that are sold on the market.

Ecovidrio ensures that 100% of the glass that is recovered in the container is recycled to manufacture new glass containers and achieve multiple benefits for the environment and society.

With as simple as separating bottles, bottles, jars and flasks used to deposit them in the containers after gesture, power consumption is reduced, raw materials are saved and landfills and reduce air pollution.
