A Forum Disclosure and Awareness Action Plan analyzes the recovery and protection of the Huerta de Murcia (23/02/2016)

The Town Planning, Environment and Huerta, Antonio Navarro Corchón, presented the Plan of Action of the Huerta de Murcia, on the occasion of the opening of the Disclosure and Awareness Forum, organized on the occasion of the inauguration of the Ist Week Orchard.

Experts have their place in the Forum which will run these five working days of this week at the City Hall Annex building, and dedicated to addressing issues such as archeology, agriculture, architecture and etymology.

Each day will involve renowned experts in each of the areas.

This Action Plan aims to restore, protect and conserve Huerta as an essential part of the identity of the town, has been one of the main topics discussed by the Session, chaired by the Mayor, José Ballesta, because according to Navarro Corchón "our present is part of our roots and we can not forget."

In addition, this initiative has asserted holder Huerta, "raises proceedings for the recovery of cultural, historical, environmental and landscape heritage for economic revitalization, and of course the tourist momentum."

Murcia City Council has organized more than fifty activities for this week, which will mobilize all residents of the municipality, that "can know its own historical and natural resource in our town," said the mayor of the Environment.

La Huerta Iª Week runs until Sunday, and includes guided tours, a food fair, workshops in nature and Fair Clothing.

During these seven days, the Huerta is the protagonist of local life that revolves around it a number of proposals "designed to give value to this own unique and singular space of our land," said Navarro, who pointed out that precisely in seeking the involvement of all, it has planned actions aimed at schools, awareness and dissemination events, gastronomic events, for heritage and other particularly aimed at family entertainment.

I Week Huerta is promoted and coordinated by the City initiative, but also has the support of the Friends of the Garden Azacaya, the Board of Landowners Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, Merchants Association Carmelitani Ecopatrimonio, Ecoespuña, Murcia Huerta Viva, Huerta Bizarra and Hostemur.
