The Department of Planning, Environment and the City of Murcia Huerta, who heads Antonio Navarro Corchón through ALEM, the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change presents an innovative initiative to help township enterprises to calculate their carbon footprint as part of the Municipal Strategy to Combat Climate Change.
This is the first in a series of meetings that will be carried out under the theme: 'Act against Climate Change', which are part of the roadmap marked by the municipality for Adaptation to Climate Change.
The workshop Calculate Carbon Footprint is an event aimed at medium and small companies in Murcia, to help them determine their carbon footprint, and where the use of the tool published by the MAGRAMA, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment will be explained , and sign where appropriate in the new existing National Registry.
The goal, has scored Navarro Corchón is that "all companies participating in the workshop out with calculated carbon footprint."
This initiative will take place at the headquarters of ALEM, 3 and March 10, 2016, and will be organized in two shifts tomorrow.
On the first day more theoretical concepts of the carbon footprint will be discussed and several dynamics that help define the scope and focus of the carbon footprint of each of the participating organizations will arise.
The second day will consist of a practical part in the operation of the tool for calculating carbon footprint will be explained and where it is intended that each company technician assistant, calculate the carbon footprint of your organization on the spot.
Antonio Navarro Corchón recalled that "to keep global warming below two degrees Celsius by the end of this century, cop21 target agreed at the last value, we must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and keep them close to zero growth and it is on this issue that we want to influence the companies in Murcia through this workshop. "
Murcia City Council in order to promote citizen participation in relevant to the municipality as well as climate change issues, offers this workshop free of charge to SMEs of the Municipality of Murcia, and to which you can register by email: cambioclimatico@ayto-murcia.es.
To reach the entire business community, the City of Murcia has the support of CROEM for the dissemination of this initiative.
The number of companies attending the workshop is limited, although depending on the application, the city of Murcia will organize a similar workshop in the future.
