The new public school in Puebla de Soto opens its doors with more modern facilities and services (18/02/2016)

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, inaugurated this morning the new College of Education and Primary Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes in Puebla de Soto, a public school located in the heart of people who will serve hundreds of children in this district that Murcia has 1,700 inhabitants.

The school was funded by the regional government with an investment of nearly 1.4 million euros, on a plot of municipal property which occupies an area of ​​almost 2,800 square meters.

It has a total of eight units of Early Childhood Education (for 32 students) and Elementary (71 students).

The new infrastructure meets a local request for the inhabitants of the village of Murcia Puebla de Soto, and is a collaboration between the regional government and the city of Murcia.

This partnership has also resulted in the recent opening of the new New Schools El Palmar school, where 350 children study.

In addition, currently they are running two projects in Murcia districts: the new pavilion in Early Childhood Education at the Virgen de Guadalupe and the expansion of the school Juan XXIII El Ranero, whose entry into operation is very close.

Municipal investment increases Education

The municipal budget for education in 2016 increased by 2.44% compared to 2015, a total of 7,616,893 euros.

Throughout this year, the city of Murcia made major repairs and improvements to about 30 schools in Kindergarten, Primary and Special Education of the municipality.

Also underway is the installation of new heating systems, maintenance and improvement of green areas in schools, as well as performances of cleaning and maintenance of minor repairs of plumbing, locksmith, masonry.
