The University of Murcia (UMU) today held the ceremony of credentials to young researchers for PhD programs and postdoctoral contracts contracts reinstatement, both funded by Banco Santander.

The Vice Chancellor for Research, Juan Antonio Garcia, noted during the ceremony, held at the campus building LAIB Health Sciences, the firm commitment of the UMU by young researchers has allowed to pass, in the call for 2015, 10 PhD contracts postdoctoral 12 and 2 to 4.

The contracts will enable the development of research projects in the areas of Physics, Zoology, Plant Biology, Computer Science, Organic Chemistry, Medicine, Cell Biology, Literature, Animal Health, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics Education and Social Sciences, Labour and ecology and Hydrology.

The director of Santander Universities Zone, Beatriz Villegas, has referred to the institutional commitment of the financial institution with the University of Murcia, which has been defined as a "reference in the Spanish university system."

"In the 18 years of collaboration between Banco Santander and UMU supporting research is a constant," said Villegas, who has been cited as other examples of cooperation programs of international mobility, the Observatory of the University Student Card ( TUI), the Yuzz program for young entrepreneurs or summer courses.

The event was closed by the Vice Chancellor for Coordination and internationalization, Bernardo Cascales, who said that the investigation, along with teaching, is the essential axis that moves the University.
