Sustainable architecture will be present at the International Congress Laudato Si 'UCAM (16/02/2016)

From next March 2 to 6 of the month, will be held at the Catholic University of Murcia International Congress Laudato Si 'integral ecology and environment, in honor of Pope Francisco.

Among the different topics to be discussed at this event of global impact, highlights the conference: "Sustainable architecture" that will give the teacher Francisco Javier Neila, Professor of Construction and Architectural Technology of the Polytechnic University of Madrid taking place on Thursday, March 3 at 16.00 h on the campus of Los Jeronimos.

Also related to the concept of sustainable architecture discussion forum moderated by Professor Pedro Antonio Díaz Guirado, architect and researcher at the UCAM, with Angel Allepuz, expert from the University of Alicante will be held.

This forum will be held on Friday, March 4 at 16:00 in the cloister of the Monastery of Jeronimos.

They participate in this debate architects and academics, Vicente Martínez Gadea, Martin Lejárraga Jose Manuel Chacon Luis Clavel, Carlos Abadia, Miguel Mesa del Castillo, Pablo Carbonell, José María López and Edith Aroca.

Experts discussed several areas of interest, which to contrast the teachings and reflections of the Encyclical Laudato Si ', such as: the architecture of globalization ?, an opportunity for raising awareness of environmental standardization models;

memory and identity ?, architecture as

transmission of historical and cultural values;

or materiality as new and old border ?, new uses for traditional materials and new materials for traditional narrow spaces.

Throughout the five-day-long congress, other topics will be discussed having as its axis relative to the overall ecology, such as the feeding ecology, media, cinema and respect for the environment, landscape and coastline Mediterranean, the family as a sustainable ecosystem, political and economic in nature, health, debate on environmentally friendly vehicles, the woman and her social commitment, the right of peoples and cultures sustainability, social responsibility and social economy, and education Catholic.
